My 31 day Lippie Challange!

So I have created a challenge for myself! I have so many lipsticks, stains, balms, and glosses, so I thought, why not challenge myself to wearing one Lippie a day! Easier said than done! Rather than create a post every single day, I will do weekly installments except for today, of course! So here is to Day 1 of a 31 day challenge!

Lippie of the day: Revlon ColorBurst in Sultry with a hint if BH Cosmetics lipgloss in Peace, Love, & Mod!

Warm regards,

Johannah

Change is hard but it can be good!

Hi everyone! Fall is a time of change! You know, like changing seasons! Changing climates! Changing wardrobes! I think you get what I mean! So during this time of transition, Unique Fash'N'Spirations has changed it's name to ForTheLuvOfCurves! The purpose of this change is that I have redefined my mission and goals in life. I still value a unique fashion inspiration or two, but I am geared to wanting to share multiple journeys of my life with readers while continuing to love my curves!

You only live once and I refuse to allow society to continue to devalue plus size women. Don't get me wrong, I have seen quite a few positive changes in wardrobe styling and clothing availability! That makes me happy!

Another pleasure of mine is makeup! I love it! I have a lot of it! And, I need to wear more of it! Beginning in December, I am going to challenge myself to wearing the different lippies I own! I shall title this challenge the "31 Days of Lippies!" This should be fun.

Next is my natural hair journey! I have been natural for a year now and I  loving it! I will also try to include some of my own fashion style in my chronicle of my life. Fashion trends do not define me!
Lastly, I am going to be changing my eating and exercise habits! This will be a true challenge because my goal is to keep my curves while becoming more healthy and physically fit.

This is quite a huge challenge given the next two holidays: Thanksgiving and Christmas! We over do it with the cooking in my house.  One of my favorite songs by The Winans Family says, "it's been a long time coming, but a change is gonna come! Waiting through the evening, tell me when will I see the sun?" Eventually I will see this change because as the song goes on it comes to say, "It's been a long time comin', But a change is gonna come. I've waited till the morning,
Now I finally see the sun! The message in this simple song, Is to keep on holdin'  Holdin' on, holdin' on! Till you see the sun! You gotta keep on holdin'

So to all of the curvy, fashion savvy, makeup loving, individual trendsetters out there, have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving! I am looking forward to sharing my own personal journey!!'

Sincerely,

Johannah

A New Unique Fashion Find!

Have you all heard of a cool website called Threadflip? It's an excellent place to find cool new threads in like new, excellent, and new condition. I have made a couple of purchases and am awaiting their arrivals! I am really excited. The pictures are of the items I actually purchased. The purple dress is from ASOS, the jean jacket is American Rag, I forget where the floral tank is from, and the pink top with navy spots is from the Loft. Super excited about these items and I spent less thank $40 for all of the items total! You get to follow the style closets of some of the sellers, and heck, they may follow you back. When you get a chance, check it out with the link below! Let me know what you think!

Inglot- Blush 47

Loving my Inglot purchase

Hey lovelies, it's been a while since my last post! Over three months to be exact! Oh how I miss posting! I am going to try my best to post at least once a month! Today's review is of Inglot Blush 47. I don't have the entire Freedom System.

Let me just say, I LOVE this color! I am trying to transition into more orange/coral colors for the spring/summer. This color was an excellent addition to my blush collection, which has only grown to about five or six total blushes, but it is now my newest obsession!

Pros:
1. Great color
2. Excellent consistency
3. Easy to use
4. Easy to apply

Cons:
N/A in my book. Like I said, I LOVE this blush! I am already dreaming of my perfect palette creation.

While I live in Bakersfield, California, there is not an Inglot near by... Plus, with two kids (both girls) I can't afford to jet set to a location where an Inglot exists? For those of you lovelies who would love to know where I made my purchase (brace yourselves cause this will be good), I ordered it from Beautylish! A wonderful one stop shop for tutorials, videos, discussions, editorials, and shopping. Yes, you read this correctly, shopping. They also have an app for the iPhone so it's easy and convenient! Check them out! Really quick shipping too! I ordered on Thursday, April 25, 2013 and had the product by Saturday, April 27, 2013 around early afternoon. Plus, they make you feel special by sending you a card personally written to you, handwritten, not type written! Beautylish! I love it!

Here is my FOTD:

Also on the lower lash line, e.l.f. shimmer eyeliner pencil in white
For the eyelashes, Smashbox Hyperlash Mascara in black (love this stuff and need more of it)

For those who have been watching my natural hair, it has definitely grown since October 2012. I am very happy with the growth. I have added a few different colors to get to the exact color I want but still not there. I am still happy in this journey and can't wait to see where I am in a few more months!

Until next time lovelies! Have a great weekend!

Admission moment: I was afraid I would have to rock the TWA for a long time. So on one fateful Saturday evening, I looked up styles for the TWA and found this wonderful young lady! She gave me something to look forward to in my TWA. A little bit of water, leave-in treatment (which I love the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in), and some gel. In the video she uses Eco Style Gel, but I am currently using IC Styler Gel. Any gel will do, but I am working toward trying new products to get the best balance for my hair type, which I still am not 100% sure of just yet! Well to my fellow naturalistas and fashionistas, here is to my next blog posting, which I hope will be sooner than later!!

Deeply Adored!

There is nothing like the holidays that make me feel truly blessed! I also feel so "Deeply Adored!" Yes, this is a play on words as I am finally showcasing the new MAC lipstick, Deeply Adored, from the MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection. I am also happy to be back to blogging and hopefully I am here to stay. Today, I tried my new lipstick, which I absolutely love. I love it more than my MAC Ruby Woo. The color is not as bright as the Ruby Woo and I think this is why I like it so much. The application was smooth and the product is creamy, which is perfect for me. What I love more than any of my makeup and other worldly possessions is my wonderful husband who adores me so much that he is my photographer! Thanks! So, without further adoo, here is my FOTD which will be followed by my OOTD!

Summer Sunset

Good evening my lovelies!! As the sunsets on summer fun, I wanted to share this introduction to a Fall look that I created at work. The inspiration of this look was coined as a "Sunrise" by my office mate as I was wearing a really cute striped t-shirt with fall colors (e.g., pink, burnt orange, and a mustard yellow). I did not get a chance to model the actual outfit for this look, so please look forward to a future re-do!

I will also be chronicling my new hair-do! I recently decided to do the big chop with my hair. At first, the plan was to just take off all of the relaxer, dead hair, and to repair the major damage done (the horrible breakage to certain sections of my hair)! I was frightened at first, but once the hair came off thanks to a beautician from my past ( and much discussion with family, friends, and co-workers who were vey supportive, also the many Facebook sites dedicated to natual divas), I realized how refreshing, empowering, and invigorating this experience has been. So in my posts, you shall see me rocking new haircessories and earrings to help play up this new style adventure for myself!!

I do apologize for being absent for long spurts, as I seem to only produce posts about once a month. I work full-time, am a full-time parent to two busy little girls, and also trying attain my last advanced degree. I am a PhD student and my children and studies do come first; however, I am taking  a six month hiatus from classes and hope to share more inspirational looks, whether it be makeup, clothing, or just something out of the blue with you all. After all, that is what makes this blog Unique Fash'N'Spirations!!! Love you all!
