Lipstick Love: Kevyn Aucoin The Matte Lip Color, Everlasting

Kevyn Aucoin the Matte LipColor in Everlasting
(Stock photo from beautylish.com)

The opinions in this review are my own!!!

This is one of my first Kevyn Aucoin purchases. I've been wanting to buy something from this line for a long time. I've seen many of my favorite YouTube makeup artists talk about this line. I was also gifted his book, Making Faces, by a coworker. I am not a makeup artist, but I am a serious makeup enthusiast. Beautylish.com has been my vehicle for getting my hands on a number of products I would not have normally purchased. I purchased three products from the Kevyn Aucoin line: this lipstick, the curling mascara, and the skin enhancer (concealer). I'm only discussing the lip color.

The Keyvn Aucoin the Matte LipColor is a true matte lipstick which I love. It applies easily and smooth. I have nothing negative to say about this lip color. I love the color everlasting. The only difficulty in selecting a color on beautylish.com is not knowing if the color will work with your complexion. Beautylish attempts to assist in color matching by providing pics of two women of obviously different ethnicities. Sometimes one of the ethnic girls is real dark skinned and sometimes there is one of a lighter skin tone. It really is a true test to order and getting a good match. I believe I found a good match on this try!

I do recommend this lipstick. I would also recommend this color. I think it will look beautiful on all skin tones! The price for this is right at $33.

Until next time my friends!!

Sunday OOTD: Just Peachy!

Happy Sunday, fun day! Just like the title of my post, I'm feeling Just Peachy! Most days I am often plagued with chronic pain, which no medication the doctor has prescribed so far has helped to ease! My good days have been so few and far in between, I never knew if I was coming or going. Today, however, is one of my good days! I will bask in this glorious day by giving thanks, praise, glory, and honor to God! So let's get to it!!!

Peach top from Target. Black leggings from ASOS Curve. UGG boots and Maxx New York purse purchased off of Poshmark! Hair and makeup done by me!

Until next time my friends!!

Poshmark, a new way to Thrift

I don't know if any of you have heard of Poshmark!? It's a web based shopping experience. It's very similar to Vinted, but just a little more sophisticated. They have what are called Posh parties! You can even follow different designer brands. People like me list like new or new items to sell at deeply discounted prices. I've really enjoyed my experience as a shopper and now as a seller. Below, I will be showing you how Poshmark works through the eyes of my own closet. You can log onto poshmark.com or dowoad the app. It is very user friendly! Here we go!

1. Welcome to my closet. This is where you list, and describe in detail the items you wish to see. A picture of the item is required. There are a few other required sections that just be filled out, such as item size, original price, and the price you will set for the item. The app is very easy to use, so just follow the prompts. This is a screenshot of my closet. You can see the number of listings have, the number of times my closet has been shared, and the number of my followers.
2. This is my profile, the about me section. Here you can see the different brands I have chosen to follow. There are many to choose from!
3. Now here is where all of the items I have liked are listed. This is a way to bookmark the seller so that it is easy to find items you have liked and may want to purchase later!
4. These are the items are purchased. Here you will be able to find out if the seller has shipped your item. You can also get the tracking number when you click the links for each purchase.
5. This is where I can look at my sells and what I have sold to fellow Poshers.
6. And these are my closet statistics.. You can see the listings sold, the total amount in sales, and if you are a top rated seller. This is just for you to keep track of your information too!

Just with anything, there are pros and cons; however, I feel the pros outway the cons. Poshmark does take a commission on each sale. The amount is set based on the price of the item (the more expensive the listing, the higher the commission taken from the sale). I can live with that. Poshmark also has some ground rules and expectations for the seller. If you want to be a top seller, then you must follow the expectations. Some of these include no selling of used makeup, even if only swatches. Also, no selling of undergarments. There is also the no PayPal rule. There are sellers who are not in it to receive that special status, so they sell pretty much anything.

One thing as a buyer, shipping is $4.99. As a seller, the buyer pays the basic shipping of $4.99 for up to 5lbs, but if the weight exceeds that limit, the seller can upgrade the shipping label, but the difference will come out of your total sells once cleared. As a buyer, you are purchase protected, so if a seller does not ship the item within seven days, the order is canceled and you are refunded.

I think everyone should give this a try, whether as a buyer or seller. I've done both and have been happy with my experience! My final words on this post is to: Keep Calm and Posh On!!!

Until next time, have a wonderful, blessed rest of the week!!

Review: Clear Proof Acne Treatment System by Mary Kay

           Clear Proof Acne Treatment System

Today I am posting my thoughts on the Clear Proof Acne Treatment System by Mary Kay. These products were sent to me by Influenster, complimentary for review. My daughter was the subject of this review because of her acne problem. These thoughts and opinions are our own and were not swayed in any way by Influenster or Mary Kay! So let's get into the review, shall we?!

Step 1: Clarifying cleansing gel acne medication with 2% salicylic acid. The product is suitable for sensitive skin, is oil and fragrance free, and is non-comedogenic. The product applied smoothly and provided a slight lather to ensure a cleanse occurred. My daughter had no complaints with this product.

Step 2: Blemish control toner acne medication with 2% salicylic acid. This product is fragrance free, clinically tested for allergy, and is also non-comedogenic. This product reduces the number of blackheads and acne pimples and helps prevent new ones. My daughter applies this with a cotton ball. It goes on easy and she has not complained about the toner bothering her skin. The directions say to apply one to three times a day. She has been using the product for a few weeks now, but only applies once a day.

Step 3: Acne treatment gel acne medication with 5% benzyl peroxide. This product should be used to cover the entire affected area. My daughters worst acne spots are her nose, forehead, and her cheeks. The recommendation is to start with one application per day because of the possibility of excessive drying. The application can gradually be increased to two to three times daily, if needed or as directed by a physician. My daughter only applies this product to her acne prone areas as mentioned above.

Step 4: Oil free moisturizer for acne prone skin. This product is suitable for sensitive and acne prone skin, is non-comedogenic, and is clinically tested for skin irritancy and allergy. The directions say to smooth in a clean face and neck using upward strokes. No further explanation needed!

Before photo:

So far, this product has worked effectively for my daughter, who had to be prescribed with a facial cream and daily acne pill. As part of trying this treatment system, my daughter stopped using the cream and the acne pill so that we could compare the results. As you can see in the before picture, she was using the cream and taking the acne pill in the evening, before bed time.

After Photo:

In the after photo, she was only using the Clear Proof system by Mary Kay for a couple of weeks. I usually require her to use the system before bed time because we are always in a hurry in the morning, but if she forgets, she uses it the next morning. I must say, we are very happy with the results.

****again, these products were received complimentary from Influenster for review.

Beauty in Unexpected Places: Walmart Beauty Box

Would you believe me if I told you guys and dolls that this beauty box, by Walmart, cost me only $5? Are you intrigued? Well so was I when I stumbled across this amazing find! I don't even really like shopping at Walmart, but for $5, I couldn't pass this up!
The packaging is so cute and the box was a lot larger than I expected! I mean c'mon, it's Walmart! But, this was quite the nice surprise!
Look at all these wonderful goodies! I may not use them all, but they are pretty cool!
1. Secret Clinic Strength Clear Gel deodorant. I'm sure this runs around $7.99, so this already over the cost of the box!
2. Dove Advanced Hair Series Oxygen Moisture shampoo and conditioner.
3. Nicki Minaj Pink Friday sample (not sure how it smells yet)
4. Dove Pure Care Dry Oil ( can't wait to try this. I can always use a hair oil)!
5. Loreal glossy Balm crayon! (Beautiful color and feels glossy)!
6. Lore Youth Code Pore Vanished (not sure of this because I don't have large pores).
7. Neutrogena nourishing long wear makeup (don't think this sample has my tone)
8. Covergirl Glossy Days glosstjnis in yellow! I'm really getting into nail polish, since I have so much makeup already, so this will be added to my growing collection. I like the color but I don't know about the payout yet.

Please stay tuned for reviews y'all! I'm trying to make myself a little more visible, even though the life of a full time, working mother, with active children, and I am overly exhausted by the end of the day!

Look y'all! Take care now!

Outfit of the Day: 9/12/14

This is not my best post but I had to make do with the little time I had to showcase this look. So, I have had the best time with my free Gwynnie Bee trial subscription that I am seriously considering keeping this subscription service! So here is my partial outfit of the day, showcasing this Lands End floral and striped 3/4 sleeve sweater.

The Kiss & Makeup necklace was purchased from an independent seller on Instagram, LeeLee's Blessed Boutique

So that is all from this Gwynnie Bee post! Stayed tuned for next week because I have three more tops to showcase before my free trial is over. I will be continuing with Gwynnie Bee as a paid subscriber, but I will only be subscribing out one piece at a time! Until them my lovelies!!

Here is another hot look brought to you by GywnnieBee.com. This is the very pretty Hermes tunic by X-two. I love the wild combination of colors in this printed tunic.

Sandals: Mossimo by Target
Black patterned leggings: ASOS Curve

Leaf earrings and leaf necklace from www.shopmissa.com
Gold plated boyfriend watch: ASOS Curve
Ivory flower bow: don't remember, possibly Target or Walmart

This was a very fun style! As soon as I saw this was shipping to me, I immediately knew I would pair this tunic with these leggings.

Once again thanks to my photographer, my beautiful 11 year old daughter! She truly is my blessing!

GwynnieBee OOTD Review

Many of you plus size fashion divas out there may already know about GwynnieBee.com, but for those of you who don't, here is a quick rundown. GwynnieBee is one of the greatest ideas ever for those fashionistas who are on strict budgets. GywnnieBee is a clothing rental service with a number of options to fit your personal budget.

The plans are based on the number of items you have out at a time. For example, the monthly fee for one item out at a time is $35. You must fill your virtual closet with a variety of items before it will trigger a shipment. You have unlimited monthly opportunities for shipments but you must first return the item before it triggers the next shipment. You also have the choice to wear the item multiple times or you can choose to purchase the item at a discount. The second plan is two items for $59. The third is three for $79, and it goes up from there. GwynnieBee also offers a 30 day free trial for new members. For the free trial, you can choose from the one item, two item, or three item options.

I've enjoyed my time so far, even though there have been a couple of mistakes. Customer service is great, and because of the couple of mistakes I've had,  my trial has been extended an additional 14 days. I have also purchased two of the items I received.

There is one catch I must worn you about. You don't know what you will be receiving until the item is shipped. I know, scary, right! I have to say, I have not been disappointed yet, well, except for the mix up in shipments. I've been very happy with the service. The other piece of awesomeness is that you don't have to clean the items if you don't want to because they provide you with a return bag with free shipping. So when you're done, toss it in the bag, send it back, and GwynnieBee will take care of the cleaning.

So here is my OOTD for Sunday, August 31, 2014. This is the Hell Bunny dress. I really loved the colors and the floral print. I saw many reviews on the website that were negative, mostly in describing the fit of the dress. I loved the fit of this dress on the lower half of my body, however, the shoulder area was a little too loose, so I found myself always having to readjust my bra straps. Other than that, no complaints here!

Not sure why I was making that face?
I felt a very retro flare with this dress. I added my blush t-strap Mary Jane's from ShoeDazzle and my faux pearl necklace and earring set from Show Miss A.

A big thank you to my photographer, my 11 year old daughter.

Until next time dolls!
